Mika Tivadar PubVII. Kazinczy u. 47.
|
Mika Tivadar Pub has evoked the spirit of Tivadar Mika personally, who had put his name on the facades of the copper products factory designed by himself in 1907. More than 100 years later, in our days, the building mixes the coffeehouse atmosphere of the last century with modern minimalism, serving as a place for contemporary jazz, soul, funk, and various kinds of electronic and experimental musicians and their audience. In the extended basement and theater area, guests can enjoy the fresh intellectual life int he form of film clubs, discussions, presentations, and perforamnces, while they can taste the home-made cold and warm specialties and nice drinks of the house.
Friday, 6 April,
19.00 Péter György and Samu Szemerey talk about the architectural and historical past and present of the Jewish quarters, its ways of forming identities, the relations between city, its inhabitants and remembering, the scenes of alienation and openness.
Péter György: aesthetic, media critic. His research field is Hungarian art history int he 20th-21st centuries, with a special focus on the Avantgarde – cultural links between the theory and practice of contemporary art and the new media.
Samu Szemerey: architect, with a wider approach to the wider context of architecture. He is especially interested in the contemporary urban environment and its forming constituents, the relations between the human body and urban space, and the counterrelations of identities, architecture, and the visual context.

21.00 Delalamm concert Entry: 500 Ft
Delalamm, if we say it simple, is the groove band of Dávid Lamm. The band uses the corpus of jazz harmonies and its improvisational approach to serve genres such as hip-hop, r’n’b, reggae, and world-music. The members come from the most popular and reknowned young musicians of the Hungarian jazz- and groove life. Their aim is to present a mixture of the above mentioned elements in an unusual way, not excluding, but strengthening the worthiest aspects of groove music.
Dávid Lamm – guitar, vocal; Zoltán Csanyi – keyboard; András Mohay – percussion; Marci Soós – bass, bass guitar http://www.lammdavid.hu/
22.00 Sound Exhibition and party with TG Lupin
The aim of Sound Exhibition is to raise awareness of the improvisational, and thus unrepeatable attributes of parties and party music, which, if we think about it, carry the same sense of art as the improvisational dance or theatrical performances. A real professional dj set, for instance, is far more than merely the tracks following each other. It is also the legal drug alchemy of DJs, which is put together for us and in front of us, still hardly recognisable as we are so much relaxed by it. Our modern wizzards are awaiting for you to be charmed by your ears!
Wednesday, 11 April,
21.00 Nigun concert Entry: 500.-

They like to cooperate with guest artists, and their last album, the third so far, was recorded featuring Daniel Zamirral (Bale Kulturnik, Etnofon Records, 2006). http://www.nigun.hu/
