Quarter6Quarter7 Festival 2012

Greetings

Quarter6Quarter7 Festival Spring 2012

“Communities created by spaces, spaces created by communities”

After the Quarter6Quarter7 Winter Festival, organizers from Marom Klub Association and the participating places have decided to fill the Jewish quarter with cultural programmes yet again in spring. In the time of Pesach, between the 6th and 14th of April, exhibitions, urban walking tours, musical programs, and talks are awaiting for the participants.

The central themes of the Quarter6Quarter7 Spring Festival are communities created by spaces and spaces created by communities. It is the firm belief of the festival crew that forming the history and profile of the district is possible by bottom to top organization and the involvement of civilians. The topic is rather current, as recently several public spaces (such a Tűzraktér, Kultiplex, Gödör Klub, or Trafó, but the list could be continued for long) have been closed, transformed, or forced to move in the area, which were also rather important from the aspects of urban history and community. However, the organizers’ aim is not to moan over the loss, nor to evoke dear memories about the places. They would like to set an example and urge public activities that can help us, citizens, in overcoming passivity and becoming active formers of the social and cultural environment surrounding is.

Between 6-14 April, it’s Quarter6Quarter7 Festival again. Put it in your calendars!
